What did we order?
1 bottle of 소주 /soju which is a beloved Korean vodka like alcohol
김밥 – Kimbap: We wanted to order it but turned out you have to pre-order, so we couldn’t try it. But kimbap is similar to maki sushi, lots of veggies and egg roll on rice, rolled up in seaweed sheets
Imola
비빔밥 – Bibimbap: rice, veggies and meat (I ordered mine vegetarian) in a hot pot. Traditionally they serve it with raw egg that cooks in the pot while you mix everything together. Here I got a different kind of pot that was not so hot, so they gave me sunny side up eggs instead.
떡라면 – Tteok ramyun – Heavenly ramen soup with rice cake that is actually not a real cake, it’s sticky but not salty nor sweet.
Gyula
라면 – Traditional ramen soup with “curly” noodles
굴비구이 – Gulbi-gui: Grilled and dried fish with delicous rice
How was it?
The atmosphere is fantastic, it really feels like you’re at a Korean restaurant in Seoul. True, we payed a lot but if I consider how many things we got along with our order, I think it’s not so much. The 반찬 or side dishes were free.
We just got the menu btu the waiter already brought out the side dishes for us. We had kimchi, season bean sprouts, spicey raddish, seasoned spinach, macaroni salad and 계란찜 (keran jjim) or steamed egg in a hot pot.
The soju got to my head pretty quickly, and my mean little Man took advantage of it and kept refilling my cup to make me talk with the owner in Korean. In the end ha won because he knows I make bets easily when I’m drunk.
